Songkran 2010

Why stay dry?

Fossil presents: Happy New Year, Thai style.

This annual page is back yet again, with kind thanks to Ken who took the time to capture moments for us. If anyone else has any photos to share just drop me a line and I'll be only too happy to put them up here for those less fortunate. This year numbers were down compared to previous years, mainly due to the economic downturn affecting everyone, and political problems here in Thailand. Same same last year. Everyone wishes it would all end quickly so that tourism can get back on track. There are quite a number of photos this time, so be patient. I've included all the pictures that Ken sent me, so some may not make much sense or even be of interest. Some are a bit blurry but put yourself in that situation and you'll see how hard it can be! Anyway, just enjoy.

Happy New Year! Now we are going to drench you with water for the next 7 days. Urk! Love it or hate it Songkran is a time of festive frivolity for Thai's and those visiting or living here. Included in this lot are a few pictures of what's was left of Pattaya's oldest go-go, Tahitian Queen. The fire was caused by a faulty air conditioning unit, which was probably there since being built (1978 I think). It's since been rebuilt and open for business as usual. There were no casualties thankfully. As to the rest of the photo's....well, some really are just silly, but a fantastic time had by all.
